Autumn Already?
It is almost as if a switch was flipped on when the first day of Autumn rolled around not too long ago. The weather was noticeably cooler, it was as if the leaves had started changing colour overnight and one could definitely smell it in the air.
The Farmers Markets in the area already had an abundance of pumpkins (the awesome carving types and loads of tiny different shaped ones, the kids usually like), gourds and chrysanthemums. I find it amazing how everything can change with a season in the blink of an eye! Don't get me wrong, I love the seasons and all the changes that come with them too.
Something else wonderful about this time of the year, Farm Markets have a lot of ripe produce which they let go for less than half of what they would usually sell them for. This is a wonderful opportunity to grab what you can, make a tomato sauce, throw some veggies on the BBQ or make a divine ratatouille that can literally go with anything!
As it gets cooler and the boots and feather duvets come out, I look forward to sweaters, smores, and making hot chocolate for my girls. There will also be the chore of picking up all the fallen leaves in the yard and lugging them to the road for leaf removal. Oh Joy!
The real fun starts with bonfires, curries and good red wine. Please come back and join us for a glass.....I dare you ;) R
